Snagged from Cryo
Jun. 10th, 2007 10:51 amList seven songs you are into right now, no matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LiveJournal along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.
1. 3 Doors Down "Be Somebody"
This one is...wierd for me. 90 percent of the time I'm associating a song with some aspect of fandom, or hell, even some RP I'm currently in. The other 9 percent is something to do with me, and its so small because I can usually choose a 'me' song and keep it for quite some time.
But this one...
it makes me think of my brother. And not even like 'my brother and me' sense. It actually makes me think (and wonder) about what it was like when he finally left home for the first time. We were both very close to our mom, so I can only imagine that he might have said something simmilar like this to her when he decided "I want to go and make something of myself, Mom."
I'm trying to be somebody, I'm not trying to be somebody else. This life is mine I'm living, don't you know me, I won't ever let you down...
2. Rascal Flats "What Hurts The Most"
Whyyyyyy why why WHY am I so in to this song? Its so gawdawfully DEPRESSING. And really, it only kind of fits a part of my life that was YEARS ago, so its not like its anything pertaining to my actual feelings. I'unno. I blame a damn good FMA AMV...

What hurts the most is being so close and having so much to say and watching you walk away. And never knowing what could have been, and not seeing that loving you is what I was trying to do...
3. Koh Ohtani/Shadow of the Colossus OST "The Farthest Land (Reprise)"
Ohman. Everything about this album is just so amazing, beautiful, and inspiring. And of course, so is the game. This song inparticular, from the Japanese version ending, has been pegged the theme song of Lerone, a city in my boyfriend's world that was turned in to a massively huge RP. It sounds almost...celtic, but with hints of other styles that are just impossible to completely pick out. It works well together, and all in all is just one of those songs I love to lay back on my bed and listen to with my eyes closed...
-Some mountains are climbed. Others are slain.- ~Shadow of the Colossus promotional poster quote.
4. CKY "Escape from Hellview"
What...the hell? Seriously.
I never even knew who CKY was until, in a massive downloading spree of movie songs, I wound up with this one. I THINK I grabbed it for Joe, but I'm not sure. Either way, it wormed its way on to my iPod and I LOVE IT. Its such a dark, rocking song, totally messed up but I find myself singing it whenever its on.
So we're hours awake and our only mistake is we bleed, and the hunger for the living helps them hunt it with the greatest of ease. No experience could ever match the sight of when a person is through, if it's the last thing I will do I'll be the one that will escape from hellview...and I will...
5. Within Temptation "Memories"
Originally I saw/heard this in a really well done FMA AMV, but ever since downloading it and listening to it REPEATEDLY (read: obsession much?), I keep thinking of this really weird fanfiction idea which I doubt I'll ever get around to writing. But it centered around Al. ...er. Human Al, for clairfication. Anyway. This song borders on epic, and its music video does it some damn good justice. Also. It made me fall in love with Within Temptation. x)
All of my memories keep you near, in silent moments, imagine you'd be here. All of my memories keep you near, the silent whispers, the silent tears...
6. 3 Doors Down "The Real Life"
Now THIS. This is my 'Me' song. Its the one song that I listen to when I'm feeling that maybe things aren't going quite right that can actually get it in to my head that "Hey, this happens. Stand back up and get your ass moving again. It'll be okay." Its not a 'feel good song' by any means. If anything its a 'wake up' song, and I'm so glad I heard it when I did. The timing couldn't have been better.
But I woke up to the real life, and I realized its not worth running from anymore. When there was no where left I hide I found out that nothing's real here, but I won't stop now until I find a better part of me...
7. Michiru Oshima, S. Geraghaty/ICO~Melody in the Myst~ "You Were There"
The same woman who composed the music for FullMetal Alchemist also did the music for the "spritual successor" (it came out first but was actually the second in the series) of Shadow of the Coslossus, and did an amaaaaazing job with it. The sole vocal track, done by a young boy of a children's chior (from England I think) is a very, very, VERY haunting peice that just kind of sticks with you even after listening to it. It paints of kind of mental imagry with the words that's hard to describe, and even harder to forget. And for some reason (probably because I've yet to have the pleasure of playing ICO), I seem to relate it to Kingdom Hearts.
Maybe its 'cause of that line about the island...
The island bathes in the sun's bright rays, distant hills wear a shroud of grey, a lonely breeze whispers in the trees, sole witness to history...
(If anyone wants this song, let me know because it is damn near impossible to find. It took me a month just to torrent the album because there were no seeders for it.)
I tag whoever wants to do this, cause I can never think of 7 people. XD
