Day 10: A song from one of your favorite albums

It feels a bit like I'm cheating since Alcehmy Vol 1 by Poets of the Fall is technically a greatest hits, BUT they did include two new songs. And while Can You Hear Me is just wonderful, the lyrics to No End, No Beginning just strike me so much deeper. I think its the "I'm secretly grateful you're sharing this moment with me" that hits me the hardest.

3. A song that reminds you of a night out

Okay, stay with me here. Just close your eyes and picture this.

A tiny 5'4" blonde girl in glasses, in a karaoke booth in Seattle, Washington, singing this.

It happened.

A couple of years ago mellonemrys  and I went up to Seattle to visit my sister, Koto and go to a small anime convention called ChibiChibiCon. The first night there Koto rented a karaoke booth for us in downtown, which included getting us and our various friends and cohorts alcohol. About halfway through the night Koto saw that "I'm On A Boat" was on there and, giggling the entire way, put it in for her turn. And she did it. The whole song. Swears and everything. It was BEAUTIFUL.

The best thing?

The machine glitched and played it TWICE. By the end we were all in to it. It was ridiculous and so much fun.

I know I said I was going to finish those entries about what happened to my mom a while ago, but my desire to write lengthy things kind of went the wayside when school started. But yay I'm back at LCC!

Ohgod I know so many... I think right now the ones I know the best are Poets of the Fall songs (which will probably get put on here a lot) just because I listen to them CONSTANTLY. And "Stay" is still among my top favorites by them (though "No End, No Beginning" is edging its way up there. God that one is beautiful.)

Uuuung... cold is trying to kill me. Oh. wait. That's nothing new.

I'm hoping I'll feel a little better tomorrow. There's a pot luck/White Elephant exchange at bead group tomorrow and I haven't been since school started. I'd like to not accidentally sleep through it or something...

And... I have nothing else to say besides colds fucking suck. Always. Forever. And ever.

Alright folks. I know we're two months away, but since I have school and crap I'd like to get this out of the way.

What do my buddies want for Christmas? It's all going to be hand made stuff this year, so here's the choices. Please be specific when you leave your reply. Replies will be screened. Addresses will be needed.

Simple art of your choice - basically colored pencil or marker drawings, not horribly overly complicated.

Paper book marks with beads - stamped bookmarks with beaded tassels on the end. The stamps will either be small ones hand carved by me (so a simple design) or little bought ones.

Bracelets, necklaces, or earrings - Bracelets will be either weaved or strung, necklaces will be either strung or wire twisted, earrings will be wire twisted.

Or if you can't think of anything, I'll just send you a nice Christmas card. :3

This term is going to kill me, I swear.

I won't go in to major details, but long and short of it is that I've been having trouble keeping up in some of my classes. I think I've mostly worked everything out at this point.

What's really going to kill me though?

That damn school. I've gotten sick, STAYED sick for weeks. And today? I fell flat on my face on the sidewalk. My leg and arm are all banged up and my hands got torn up, too.

This is where Greggo's "I'm having a really bad year" icon would be nice to have in my personal journal. For now, I'll just settle with "Bitch, please" because it speaks to how I feel ANYWAY.
