Jury duty, man... what a weird experience. Even if you DON'T get picked the process alone is defiantly a change up from anyone's usual day.

But I got picked.

Yes, that's right. Me. I was a juror for a whole two days, waking up at hours I haven't been awake for in months, going to sit through a case and listen to evidence and testimony and in the end I along with five other people decided the fate of another person.

I wish I could say that the case was something big, but obviously by the admittance of 'two days' you all can probably tell that it was a minor case at best. But it WAS typical Eugene weird, that's for sure.

Still, this was some one who honestly deserved it and I'm glad it ended the way it did.

So here's a run down of it.

Sometimes I worry about my brain...

I normally don't dream about my characters, canon, RP, story and otherwise. I think it has something to do with the fact that I'll often be working on little mini-scenarios and fics in my head BEFORE I fall asleep so that I can toy with them later.

But last night I actually dreamed about Nick and Greg. Specifically that I was working a case with them.

Not just any case. A case with super scifi transporting gates of some kind.

... yeah I have no idea either. I just know that the gates were experimental, I have no idea what the hell they'd have to do with a murder, and there was just two of them built above a pool of all things.

I don't remember hardly any of the conversation now, just that we were having a fairly fun time despite it being work. And at some point I made a downer comment about me being unemployed, some how implying that I shouldn't have been there, and Greg gave me one of his awesome, goofy grins and said something like "You're a student. Don't count yourself as unemployed."

I know it was phrased funny but it still some how made me feel better that a random art student was helping two CSIs with a weird scifi case.

Of course the fact that I was an art student never came up. ^^;

Yeah. My brain is funny sometimes.

Isn't there some... rule of thumb that injuries, specifically muscle-and-tendon related injuries, always hurt worse the second and third day?

I think I'm on that right now. I was able to hobble around last night without much trouble, which was good for going to the bathroom and getting a drink. But today at about 11 am FedEX was knocking at the door and throwing Roxie in to a fit. Even injured I'm faster than Mom when it comes to walking so I hobbled to the door to answer it (it was her monthly retirement check, which they're SUPPOSED to direct deposit in to her account, fuckers) and went back to bed after.

I got up to go to the bathroom around 2 and ow ohgod. It's way stiffer and sorer than yesterday. Dx

I'm... staying in bed today as much as humanly possible. *s-sob*

Uuuung... cold is trying to kill me. Oh. wait. That's nothing new.

I'm hoping I'll feel a little better tomorrow. There's a pot luck/White Elephant exchange at bead group tomorrow and I haven't been since school started. I'd like to not accidentally sleep through it or something...

And... I have nothing else to say besides colds fucking suck. Always. Forever. And ever.

... but seriously I need to go to sleep. I'll tell the story in the morning.
