Ham, egg hunts, water fights, and fun
Apr. 11th, 2004 06:21 pmCarol invited me over to her house for an Easter dinner. Granted I haven't celebrated the holiday in years, but I wasn't about to turn down a good homecooked meal that wasn't chicken breasts. e_e; So of course I thought 'nice clothes, makeup, ect'.
Little did I know what was waiting for me there. xD
I approached the house and I heard voices outside, so thinking to myself 'well its nice weather, wish I would have worn a short sleeved shirt for it but oh well'. It was Carol and Fred, Carol's neice and her two kids, and Carol's daughter Heather and her roommate Jen. I brought both the digital and the SLR camera with me and took some pictures, and then we ate. Wonderful food too. <3
As we were talking and eating Carol said "There's 7 eggs out there for everyone, one of them white with drawings on them. After we finish eating, you all (meaning Heather, Jen, Justin, Amanda, and Carol's niece) are going to go looking for them."
An egg hunt! Imagine my suprise! Me, a 20 year old girl who hadn't even thought of such things in well over a decade, going on a silly egg hunt in Carol's yard! *sniggers* Well I wasn't about to say no. So we finished, and got up and hunted for those elusive eggs. I found four on my own, the other three I wound up needing help with cause you all know how incredebly blind I am. x)
So the eggs were found, and in each of them there were numbers. The white ones were connected to lottery scratch-its, which of course I didn't win anything from but hey it was fun. And then the rest of the prizes were given out, alot of them water toys. Then the insanity insued. All of us, Fred and Carol included, got involved in a really long drawn out water war, throwing water freesbies, missles, and balls back and forth, getting absolutely soaked. That was so much fun. I don't think I stopped laughing.
After that we had desert and just chilled while the younger kids played, Jen and Heather having a little too much fun with thier silly putty. About an hour later we bid eachother farewell and went on our merry little way.
Needless to say after all that's occured recently this was -defenately- something I needed. Carol's gonna get a big gift for this. :D
And now, I'm going to go get a shower and get the dirt out of my hair. ^.^;;;;
May brightly colored eggs, good food, and silly putty be yours this Easter day. Even if you don't celebrate it.
Much love everyone. <3
