Tomorrow we pack up and leave, but right now one looking in wouldn't have any clue of that. Its a full house, with cars and a motor home out front. It's raining again, but no one seems to care - we had our sunny day Christmas Eve. The living room and kitchen is a buzz with conversations, ranging from random injuries to technology to trips down memory lane, and the whole place smells of savory foods. Dinner will be soon, and once we're all stuffed it will be time to finally wind down. We didn't do a lot, but I don't think that mattered as much as being with family. That goes double for me. This is the first time in years I've been able to spend time with them, and being here has made me realize how much I missed it.
It will all be over far too soon, but I know we'll always have a ton of digital photos to look back on.
So here's to a great holiday and hopefully a great year to come.
With fond thoughts of this lovely, yet rainy, coast,
Jeni Smith

PS. My only compliant: The hide-a-beds are terribly uncomfortable.

All in all a pretty cool vacation. I got some wicked awesome slippers and a little over 100 bucks, which is better than I was thinking I was going to wind up with. Dinner was kind of emotional, for a lot of people and for various reasons, but I felt a little less down afterwards.

Ohand
cause Tanja asked.

My aunt Lisa is very religious. I don't mind it so much. But from time to time she'll say something that makes me really uncomfortable.
There was some lady in the rental office across the street apparently dancing or mediating in her office. This doesn't surprise me - there are a lot of spiritual people down in this area that aren't necissarily Christian. Anyway, Chris, my cousin's husband, points this out to us, and Lisa looks out the window and starts laughing. Then she comments, and I quote
"Maybe she's trying to call the sun gods down or something. Well, God, because there's really only one, isn't there? She just hasn't found that yet."

Ohgod, I'm so glad she wasn't saying that to my face. I was squirming pretty bad at that point, and eventually just grabbed the couch when it was open to give me some space from her.

Anyway, there's only about half an hour of actual Christmas left. I'm trying to finish a temporary Furc dream and of COURSE Diane's computer is absolutely hating the idea of it.

MUCH LOVE TO ALL!
