Dec. 16th, 2006 10:06 pmWhich is exactly what I said when the power went out the FIRST time at work.
Roughly 7:30 - the lights begin flickering
8:15 - the lights completely shut off. I feel my heart stop for a second and the first words out of my mouth are a whispered "Oh god", followed by Zach asking me if I'm okay. I say I am, and the lights come back on completely. We restart our computers and get back to work thinking that's it.
8:17 - Krissie comes over and says that she's missed her bus. Zach offers her a ride home with us.
8:20 - The lights go out AGAIN and stay out longer this time. I basically start shrieking quietly and flail. General concensus is not to ask me if I'm okay. The back up generator kicks in, we have no computers but have phones. Krissie asks if she can stay in our area, Jim says yes. We spend the rest of the night talking and coming to the conclusion that Stream is very, very creepy without the normal sounds and lights.
9:03 - We go out to Zach's car only to find that all of Stream and the surrounding stores and everything for about two blocks in either direction is out. Traffic is backed up. The entire place reminds me of Silent Hill.
9:30 - We make it home fine, but with me still really twitchy.
YEAH. That's an interesting end to my week...
I go play stupid kids games now.
