Following Footsteps

I hardly ever follow memes anymore, but this one was interesting. Like my friends, most of what I do is tag-fic (going back and forth with another writer), so I'll grab the ones I can remember as being my start. I do have a few (marked with an *) that are from my 30_Kisses prompt, which is a project I'm trying to do with as little assistance as possible. Ones marked ^ are non tag-fic, written by me alone.
Post the first line from your 25 most recent fanfics and try to find a pattern.
1. Ana had spent a little time talking to Sio, taking the basket that the girl had brought as a get well gift for both her and Dan, but keeping it short before shooing the girl off to spend time with her boyfriend.
*2. The soft strains of a left on radio alarm greeted the messy apartment with the rising of the sun, and continued to be the only sound for several hours after the fact, the golden orb turning bright as it moved across the sky and changed the light spilling through the split pane window shades over the sliding glass door.
3. The house had been quiet since Nei'ess left, though it was odd to think of it in terms like that when the kid couldn't even speak.
4. Down below, a large SUV, black and decorated with the logo of CSI in white, roared up to the open air parking lot, getting by just as the police guarding the scene were able to put the yellow police tape up and allow it in.
^5. His head hurt.
6. Over-sized headphones covering all of one side of his face and most of the other, the keyboardist didn't notice the conversation Hex had been having, and as such he didn't expect the swirl of colors that wound up just above the keys he was near pressing.
^7. "Heeey! Come on, guys! Hurry up! I want to beat the traffic!"
^8. "Somedays, I hate having to play diplomat..."
9. Evening light filtered through slatted blinds, casting odd shadows in an office that had not yet had its normal overheads turned on, and those shadows continued to shift as the petite red head darted from file cabinet to file cabinet, trying to consolidate the work of the past week and not lose her mind for the moment.
10. When Hex began the idea of starting a band and wrangled his first two members by coercing Nei'ess and Rory into it, actual diversity within the band hadn't really been at the forefront of his planning.
^11. "I don't understand, Ana. Why do we have to meet with them? Haven't they already publicly declared that they're our rivals? 'Making nice' hardly seems to be relevant at this point," Rory complained, rather long winded at that, earning little more than a hefty sigh for his troubles from the red haired manager.
12. It was an endeavor, to say the least, to take on the job of managing a band, to keep them running efficiently even in times of doubt and turmoil, to keep the gears turning smoothly and stand behind them on an often rocky climb to the top.
13. Green eyes stared into a tired, pallid reflection.
^14. "You do realize that blood loss can lead to death, too, don't you?" Ana griped, poking Rory in the side and getting a muted rant in response, instead of the obvious flail with his arm that he would have liked to give.
*15. Rory knew that two years was a long time to go without ever hearing those three small words in response.
*16. "Tell me again, Ana, why we're even out here?"
*17. Their work was important to them.
*18. Canned laughter and too-loud commercials for car dealerships drowned out the soft patter of chilly rain on the hospital windows.
19. It was bound to happen eventually.
20. The spring day was pleasantly warm, enough so for a light jacket and the slicing sun to be enough warmth as students sat at the tables scattered throughout the Quad, sat at the edge of the fountain, and walked over the bright, dew-speckled grass.
21. The sky above was crystal clear, every single visible star shining in a sparkling wash across the darkness.
22. Many a past-time had surfaced in Solluna, after having lived there for a little over two years. Some were trying to reconnect to their old lives, or at least keep alive some reminder that it had existed at all.
23. Doubt is a powerful, destructive force, driven by an insatiable need to devour inner strength and gnaw on the insides of certainty like a malicious animal that killed not for sustenance, but for the sheer disgusting sport of it.
24. The redhead in question seemed not only unwilling, but terrified to let go of the chimera, her fingers working so tightly in to his shirt that she nearly pulled the fabric apart in her grip.
25. At first the house remained silent and seemingly unoccupied, with no movement or sound of life from within.
Note:
^14: I did, for the most part, write this one alone, but I had a little help with some interaction and lines. It was my first Pareidolia fic ever.
20. I wrote this one with
dragonalchemist, but its been so long since we did that I can't recall for the life of me if this first line was written by me or her. For arguments sake I just put it up there as its the actual first line of the fic.
Patterns:
-I tend to go one of three ways - Really long winded and zomg run on sentences, dialouge, or really short beginnings.
-Lots of Hex, Rory, Ana, Nei'ess. ^5. is FullMetal Alchemist crackfic, actually. 6. actually features Hardy and Nei'ess as the focal point. ^7., ^8, centers around Hardy. 20. Features Roy and Daniel. 25. Centers around Hex and Roy.
-I seem to have an obsession with describing the sky/time of day.
-Everything recent is either Blacklight, Pare, or Solluna based with the exception of that one fanfic. ... wow.
