1. Even the most intelligent of man has moments of brain stupidity. However the whole 'Timey-Whimey' thing from the episode "Blink" was seriously just because he found it amusing.

2. Repetitive songs also amuse him. He sometimes sings Henry the Eight when messing with the TARDIS. This Is the Song That Never Ends seems to also provide endless hours of entertainment.

3. Once, while captured by Samurai in Feudal Japan, he was released by them only hours later because he wouldn't stop counting the leaves in the trees as loudly as he could manage. The Samurai considered him a trickster god who was sent there to test his will. Obviously, he went along with this.
